What Hair Strengthening Oil Is
Hair Strengthening Oil 1 L is a ready-made blend of seven plant ingredients: burdock, rosemary, castor, linseed and cedar nut oils, avocado oil and shea butter. It belongs to our range of base oil blends in bulk and serves two audiences. Hair care professionals use it on its own as a pre-wash oil step for the scalp and lengths, while cosmetic makers add it to the oil phase of hair masks, conditioners, shampoos and beard products.
Buying one balanced blend instead of seven separate oils saves time on weighing and mixing and keeps every batch of the finished product consistent. The 1 L pack suits salons, barbershops and small production runs.
Key Properties
The blend works because its oils differ in texture. Castor oil is dense and viscous and leaves a smooth, glossy film on the hair surface. Linseed and cedar nut oils are lighter and help the blend spread evenly along the lengths. Avocado oil and shea butter bring a rich, softening feel, and burdock and rosemary oils are familiar ingredients in scalp care products.
In everyday use the oil leaves hair softer, smoother and easier to manage, reduces the dry feel along the lengths and helps keep the ends from looking frizzy after blow-drying. The scalp feels comfortable and supple after an oil session.
Applications
Salon and Home Hair Care
The simplest use is a pre-wash oil ritual: the blend is massaged into the scalp, spread through the hair, left on and then washed out with shampoo. For clients who also want a deeper conditioning step, it pairs well with Nourishing Hair Oil with evening primrose, avocado and jojoba or with a fermented hair oil.
Cosmetic Production
Manufacturers use the blend as a conditioning oil in rinse-off masks, conditioners and shampoos, and as the main oil in beard oils and balms. The composition works equally well in women's and men's ranges.
How to Use
For a pre-wash session, 5 to 15 ml is usually enough, depending on hair length and volume. Apply to dry scalp and hair, leave for 30 to 60 minutes and wash out with shampoo, twice if needed. Fine hair benefits from applying the oil mostly to the lengths and ends.
Suggested use levels in finished products are 1-2% in shampoos, 2-5% in conditioners, 5-20% in masks and up to 100% in anhydrous oil products. Always add the blend to the oil phase. Because linseed oil is prone to oxidation, avoid long heating and add the blend to emulsions during cool-down at around 40-45 °C.
Compatibility and Processing Notes
The blend mixes easily with other plant oils, oil-soluble vitamins and antioxidants. For fragrance, use essential oils in bulk at 0.5-1% of the product weight. The oil is not water soluble, so clear water-based products need a solubiliser. Castor oil raises viscosity, which matters in sprays, where the blend is better diluted with a lighter oil. Water-containing products require a preservative, while anhydrous products benefit from 0.2-0.5% tocopherol.

Recipe: Enriched Daily Shampoo
Ingredients for 250 g: ready-made unscented shampoo base with preservative 244 g, Hair Strengthening Oil 5 g, lavender essential oil 1 g.
Method: weigh the oil and the essential oil into a small beaker and stir. Add the mixture to the shampoo base in small portions while stirring slowly to avoid air bubbles. A slight haze is normal for oil-enriched shampoos. Let the shampoo rest for 24 hours, check the texture and pour it into a bottle with a pump.
Storage
Store in a cool, dark place in a tightly closed container. Decant a working amount into a smaller bottle to limit how often the main container is opened and exposed to air. The best-before date of the batch is listed in the product specifications.
FAQ
Can the oil be used undiluted?
Yes. The stated use level of 1-100% allows using the blend neat as a pre-wash oil for the scalp and lengths.
Is it suitable for men's grooming products?
Yes. It works in both men's and women's hair care and is a good base for beard oils and beard balms.
How much oil should go into a conditioner?
Most conditioners take 2-5% of the blend. Higher levels can weigh fine hair down.
Why add the blend at cool-down?
Linseed oil in the blend is sensitive to heat and air, so adding it at 40-45 °C helps keep the oil fresh in the finished product.
