Concentrated Carrot Extract for Skin Renewal Formulas
Carrot CO2 Extract in a 5 g package is a dense concentrate obtained through supercritical carbon dioxide extraction from carrot root. This extraction method preserves a high level of carotenoids, tocopherols and natural lipids that give the extract pronounced restorative and nourishing properties. This product belongs to the CO2 Extracts category, which brings together concentrated plant extracts for professional formulations made without solvents. The small package size is convenient for home cosmetic making and small trial batches, allowing formulators to test how the active ingredient performs before scaling up to larger production.
The main application of carrot CO2 extract is in skin care for face and body: anti-aging creams, firming serums, products for tired and dull skin, as well as pre and post sun exposure care. Thanks to its high carotenoid content, the extract helps improve skin tone, gives the finished product a subtle natural warmth, and supports the skin's natural resilience against environmental stressors. In color cosmetics it is sometimes added to lip balms and tinted bases to give skin a healthier appearance. In the cosmetic and personal care industry, carrot extract is also used as a component of oil blends for massage products and spa treatments.
The recommended dosage of carrot CO2 extract ranges from 0.5 to 3 percent of the total product weight, depending on the concentration of active compounds in a particular raw material batch and the desired effect. The extract should be introduced during the oil phase at a temperature not exceeding 40-45 degrees Celsius to avoid degrading the heat-sensitive carotenoids. Before adding, it is recommended to pre-dissolve the concentrate in a small amount of carrier oil for even distribution throughout the formula. It pairs well with other plant concentrates, such as Dill CO2 Extract, which adds a toning note to the blend, or Yarrow CO2 Extract (leaf), known for its calming effect on sensitive skin. It is also worth considering the lighter version of the product, Carrot CO2 extract BIO (in jojoba), pre-diluted in jojoba oil and easier to dose for beginners.
The extract should be stored in tightly sealed packaging, in a cool dark place away from direct sunlight and temperature fluctuations, ideally refrigerated, to preserve carotenoid activity throughout its shelf life. Once the container is opened, it is best to use the product within a reasonable time and avoid prolonged air exposure.
