Violet CO2 Extract for Fine Fragrance and Skin Formulations
Violet CO2 extract in a 100 gram package is obtained through supercritical carbon dioxide extraction of the flowers and leaves of the plant, a method that preserves an unusually wide spectrum of natural compounds including flavonoids, saponins, ascorbic acid and the characteristic aromatic constituents of the plant. This extraction technique is considered one of the gentlest available because it avoids heat exposure and solvent residues, keeping the bioactive fraction intact and stable. This raw material belongs to the broad category of CO2 Extracts, which covers concentrates used across fragrance manufacturing, food technology and industrial chemistry alike.
The primary demand for violet CO2 extract worldwide comes from the fine fragrance and flavor industry. Its delicate, powdery floral character with soft green undertones makes it a valued ingredient in perfume compositions, eau de toilette, household fragrance blends and scented candles, where it lends a refined, slightly powdery warmth that develops beautifully in the heart and base notes. In skin care formulations the extract is incorporated into serums, creams, toners and emulsions, where it supports a fresh, toned appearance of the skin and can be included in products designed for sensitive or redness-prone skin thanks to its mild soothing character. In hair care it is added to masks and conditioners to impart shine along with a light floral trail.
The recommended dosage of violet CO2 extract in cosmetic formulations ranges from 0.1 to 1 percent of the total batch weight, while in perfume compositions the quantity is adjusted individually depending on the desired strength of the note. It should be introduced at the final stage of production, during the cool-down phase, at temperatures not exceeding 40 degrees Celsius, to prevent loss of the volatile aromatic fraction. The extract dissolves readily in oils and fatty bases, so it is convenient to pre-dilute it in a small amount of carrier oil before blending into the main formulation. Violet concentrate pairs well with other floral and herbal CO2 extracts - for instance with Lavender CO2 Extract, which adds a calming herbaceous facet, and with Chamomile officinalis CO2 Extract, which reinforces the soothing effect for reactive skin. For formulations focused on nourishment and recovery, it also combines well with Sea Buckthorn CO2 Extract, which contributes a complex of carotenoids and fatty acids.
The 100 gram package size is well suited to studio-scale and small-batch manufacturing, providing enough material to trial new formulations, launch limited fragrance runs and support a small laboratory or workshop reliably over an extended period. Store the extract in a tightly sealed container, in a cool dark place away from direct sunlight and heat sources, to maintain the stability of its aromatic and bioactive components throughout the shelf life.
