Bulk Oak Bark CO2 Extract for Continuous Manufacturing Lines
Oak bark CO2 extract supplied in a 1 kg pack is a concentrated raw material obtained through supercritical carbon dioxide extraction, preserving the full complex of tannins, catechins and polyphenols naturally present in the bark, without any residual solvents. This volume is intended for contract manufacturers, private label facilities and conveyor-style production lines that require consistent batch quality across repeated orders. The product belongs to the CO2 Extracts category, which brings together solvent-free botanical concentrates suitable for clean-label formulation work.
The main global demand for oak bark extract comes from skincare aimed at oily and combination skin: the astringent and sebum-balancing action of the tannins makes it a common ingredient in toners, creams, masks and pore-refining formulas. In hair care it is used in shampoos and scalp rinses designed for oily or dandruff-prone scalps, as well as in root-strengthening treatments. Oral care is another notable application, where oak bark has long been used in mouth rinses for its astringent effect on gum tissue. Beyond cosmetics, the extract is a recognized raw material in the leather industry as a natural tanning agent, in textile production for durable brown dyeing, and in the food and beverage sector, where it is used to flavor spirits, infusions and vinegars, contributing a characteristic woody, tannic profile.
In formulations the extract is added during the cooling stage of a water or gel phase, at a temperature not exceeding 40 degrees Celsius, to preserve the activity of the polyphenols. A recommended dosage for creams and gels ranges from 0.1 to 2 percent of total batch weight, while toners and rinses can tolerate concentrations up to 3 percent. Food and beverage applications typically require much smaller amounts, calculated individually per recipe and batch volume. The extract pairs well with other CO2 concentrates: woody-resinous facets are enhanced by Juniper CO2 Extract, antioxidant blends benefit from CO2 Extract of Green Coffee, and toning, firming formulas work well combined with Pomegranate CO2 Extract.
Store the extract in a tightly sealed opaque plastic or glass container, in a dry, cool place away from direct light, heat and strong odors. Under proper storage conditions the raw material retains its properties throughout the stated shelf life, which is essential for industrial batches with extended production and logistics cycles.
Pore-refining toner, 8 kg production batch
Distilled water 6800 g
Oak bark CO2 extract 80 g
Glycerin 250 g
Panthenol 160 g
Solubilizing emulsifier 120 g
Broad-spectrum preservative 80 g
Tea tree essential oil 15 g
Liquid green tea extract 495 g
Combine
the water with glycerin and panthenol in the main mixing vessel, heat to 40
degrees Celsius until fully dissolved, then allow the mixture to cool to room
temperature. Add the solubilizer followed by the oak bark extract, green tea
extract and tea tree essential oil, mixing thoroughly after each addition until
homogeneous. Finally blend in the preservative, adjust the mass to an even
consistency, and fill the toner into industrial containers, letting the batch
stabilize for at least 24 hours before quality control testing.
