Product Description
Inositol Myo-Inositol functional ingredient for cosmetic formulation systems
Inositol, also known as Myo-Inositol, is an organic compound belonging to the group of cyclic polyols. The ingredient is widely used in different technological systems and functions as a component in cosmetic formulation development. Inositol is a water soluble ingredient compatible with different types of cosmetic bases. Due to formulation stability and compatibility with a wide range of ingredients Myo-Inositol is commonly used in laboratory formulation development and industrial cosmetic manufacturing. The ingredient may be incorporated into aqueous solutions, gel based systems and emulsion formulations. Inositol functions as a component of ingredient complexes used in modern skin care and hair care formulations. The material is widely used in private label development, contract manufacturing and industrial production of cosmetic products.
Properties and formulation interaction
Within cosmetic formulations Inositol functions as a formulation ingredient integrated into different cosmetic textures. In creams, serums and gel systems the ingredient distributes evenly throughout the formulation matrix and becomes part of the ingredient complex. In aqueous and emulsion systems Myo-Inositol can be easily incorporated into the formulation structure.
Applications across industries
Inositol is used in development of skin care products including creams, serums, gels and cosmetic masks. In hair care formulations the ingredient may be incorporated into shampoos, conditioners and hair masks. In body care formulations Inositol can be integrated into different cosmetic compositions. In SPA formulations the ingredient may be used in professional cosmetic systems. In formulation laboratories Inositol is widely used in development of cosmetic formulations and functional ingredient complexes. The ingredient may also be incorporated into ingredient systems for functional products, beverages and botanical complexes. Inositol is suitable for private label development, contract manufacturing and industrial production.
Recipe for hydrating cosmetic serum
Distilled water — 72 ml
Chamomile hydrosol — 15 ml
Glycerin — 6 ml
Myo-Inositol — 3 g
Panthenol — 2 ml
Aloe extract — 1 ml
Cosmetic preservative — 1 ml
Preparation process
Distilled water is combined with chamomile hydrosol to form the aqueous base of the formulation. Glycerin is incorporated and mixed until evenly distributed. Myo-Inositol is dissolved in the water phase until fully integrated within the formulation system. Panthenol is added and blended until the mixture becomes homogeneous. Aloe extract is incorporated and the formulation is mixed until a stable serum texture is obtained. At the final stage the preservative is added and the mixture is blended until a stable cosmetic product suitable for cosmetic manufacturing is achieved.
