Cypress hydrosol typically makes up 60 to 95 percent of the water phase in a recipe, with the remaining portion reserved for active ingredients, glycerin, preservatives and thickeners.

It should be added during the cold phase of production, once the emulsion or water phase has cooled below 40 degrees Celsius, to protect the volatile aromatic compounds from heat degradation. Store the product in a tightly sealed container away from direct sunlight; once the liter bottle is opened, it is advisable to transfer a working portion into a smaller container and keep the main stock refrigerated to extend shelf life and prevent cloudiness.
