Product Description
Ectoin biotechnology derived cosmetic ingredient for formulation systems
Ectoin is a biotechnology derived ingredient produced through microbial fermentation processes. The ingredient belongs to the category of functional cosmetic actives used in modern formulation systems. Ectoin can be incorporated into different cosmetic bases including aqueous solutions, gel structures and emulsion based formulations. Due to its stability in cosmetic systems and compatibility with different formulation ingredients the component is widely used in laboratory formulation development and industrial cosmetic manufacturing. Biotechnology derived actives of this type are commonly integrated into modern skin care and hair care formulations. The ingredient is also used in development of professional cosmetic products, private label formulations and contract manufacturing projects.
Properties and formulation interaction
Within cosmetic formulations Ectoin functions as a formulation active integrated into different cosmetic textures. In creams, serums and gel based compositions the ingredient distributes evenly throughout the formulation matrix and becomes part of the active ingredient system. In various cosmetic textures the ingredient supports balanced formulation systems and modern cosmetic compositions.
Applications across industries
Ectoin is used in development of skin care formulations including creams, serums, gels and cosmetic masks. In hair care products the ingredient may be incorporated into shampoos, conditioners and hair masks. In body care formulations Ectoin can be integrated into different cosmetic compositions. In SPA formulations the ingredient may be used in professional cosmetic systems. In formulation laboratories Ectoin is widely used in development of cosmetic formulations and functional ingredient complexes. The ingredient may also be used in development of ingredient systems for functional products and beverages. Ectoin is suitable for private label development, contract manufacturing and industrial production.
Recipe for light hydrating cosmetic gel
Distilled water — 68 ml
Lavender hydrosol — 20 ml
Glycerin — 6 ml
Ectoin — 2 g
Aloe extract — 2 ml
Panthenol — 1 ml
Cosmetic preservative — 1 ml
Preparation process
Distilled water is combined with lavender hydrosol to create the aqueous base of the formulation. Glycerin is incorporated and mixed until evenly distributed. Ectoin is dispersed in the water phase until fully integrated within the formulation system. Aloe extract is added and mixed until the composition becomes homogeneous. Panthenol is incorporated and the mixture is blended until a stable gel structure forms. At the final stage the preservative is added and the formulation is mixed until a stable cosmetic gel suitable for formulation development and cosmetic manufacturing is obtained.
