Cosmetic Recipe: Soothing Borage & Lavender Facial Oil

Ingredient Quantity (by volume)
Jojoba Oil (carrier oil) 15 ml
Sweet Almond Oil (carrier oil) 10 ml
Borago officinalis Essential Oil 3 drops
Lavender Essential Oil 2 drops

Instructions:

  1. In a clean, dark glass bottle with a dropper, carefully measure and combine the Jojoba oil and Sweet Almond oil. These act as carrier oils to dilute the potent essential oils.

  3. Add the Lavender Essential Oil drop by drop to the blend. Lavender complements the soothing properties of Borage and adds a calming aroma.
  4. Close the bottle tightly and gently roll it between your palms to ensure the oils are thoroughly mixed.

Application Recommendations:

  • After cleansing and toning your face, dispense 2-3 drops of the Soothing Borage & Lavender Facial Oil onto your fingertips.
  • Gently warm the oil between your fingertips and then lightly press and massage it onto your face and neck, avoiding the eye area.
  • For best results, apply the facial oil in the evening as part of your nighttime skincare routine.
  • You can also add a drop or two to your regular moisturizer for an extra boost of nourishment.
  • Store the facial oil in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight to maintain its potency.
  • Perform a patch test on a small area of skin before applying the facial oil to your entire face, especially if you have sensitive skin or are new to using essential oils.

Perfume compositions Heart notes: The delicate herbal aroma of borage can be used in "green" and floral perfume compositions as an auxiliary tone, adding a natural spicy note. Important: Taking borage essential oil internally without consulting a doctor is highly undesirable. Only aromatherapists can experiment with the internal use of essential oils, strictly monitoring the dosages.
