Instructions for Making Cold Process Soap:

2. Prepare Lye Solution (Phase B): Carefully weigh out distilled water into a heat-safe container. Slowly add sodium hydroxide flakes to the water (NEVER water to lye), stirring gently until fully dissolved. The solution will heat up rapidly. Set aside to cool to around 100-120°F (38-49°C).
