Perfume - the main autograph of the personality
Even the most elegant outfit needs a finishing touch: a drop of perfume. Scent is what completes the look. It is an invisible calling card that shapes first impressions, speaks of your taste and style, and lingers long after you have left the room.
The right perfume is a natural extension of who you are. It sets the mood, whether relaxed, romantic or energetic, and lifts your spirits. Shops offer a dazzling choice at equally dazzling prices, and a new bottle from a famous brand often disappoints: it just is not you.
Perfume from fragrance oils
There is a way out: make your own perfume from perfume fragrance oils. The choice of quality materials today is huge. Homemade perfume may not last as long as factory scents, but for very little money you get a fragrance that is truly yours and can create new ones as often as you like.
Basic perfume recipe
You need just two ingredients: 30% fragrance oil or blend and alcohol of 70% to 96% strength. Do not forget a dark glass spray bottle of 5, 10 or 15 ml, for example from our perfume packaging section. The perfume needs time to mature, only then does the scent become full and lasting. Alternatively, use essential oils as the base or make a solid perfume.
Eau de parfum
If you do not need great longevity, try an eau de parfum that even a beginner can make: 9 parts 96% alcohol, 1 part distilled water and 1 part fragrance oil.
Tips for beginners
Do not rush to combine lots of notes, especially from different families, start with simple recipes and ready blends. For a cool, fresh feel, add menthol crystals dissolved in alcohol first. Test longevity and how the scent suits your skin on your wrist: a quality product lasts up to 10 hours. Ketones such as watermelon or musk ketone add staying power, but remember they often become the main note.
Perfume usually lasts around 10 hours, eau de parfum 5 to 8. As you can see, it is simple and only takes enthusiasm and a little time. For inspiration, try our Sandalwood luxury perfume recipe.
