Chocolate Handmade
How to independently grow carcasses for viy.
Hardly any woman manages without mascara: it brings out the eyes and opens up the look. Shops are full of mascaras at every price and quality, but there is something special about one you make yourself from natural ingredients.
Why homemade mascara is worth it
Natural mascara has a simple make-up, does not flake under the eyes, costs little and does not dry lashes out or make them heavy or brittle. Before you start, test every ingredient for allergies. Get a glass container, gloves and an old mascara tube, thoroughly washed and disinfected.
Liquid mascara
Crush 2 activated charcoal tablets into powder and mix with a few drops of aloe juice. Load the brush and apply as usual, letting it dry a little. It is almost impossible to tell from a shop-bought one. Keep it in the fridge for no longer than a week. An aloe vera fragrance can echo the aloe note in your products.
Thick wax mascara
You need 2 charcoal tablets, a few drops of aloe vera and beeswax or coconut oil. Melt the base in a water bath, add the charcoal powder and aloe, and let it cool and set. This one keeps longer and holds its texture better. A Covalip balm base also works as the base.
Vitamin mascara
Mix equal parts of vitamin E from a capsule, activated charcoal and an oil of your choice: jojoba, castor or olive. Apply to lashes the usual way.
Natural mascara comes off like any other: with soap and water or an eye makeup remover. Mascara without wax dries out quickly, so do not make a big batch. If the wax version has set, hold the tube under warm water for a while. For another recipe, read our lengthening mascara article.
