Glass skin: how to get the Korean glow and what to buy for your routine
Glass skin has become the signature goal of Korean skincare: smooth, well hydrated skin with an even tone that seems to glow from within. The problem is that many people chase this look with highlighter or harsh peels and end up with flaking and greasy shine instead of radiance.
Why the glass skin effect does not happen
Radiance appears when the skin surface is smooth and full of moisture. When the outer layer is dehydrated, light scatters and the face looks dull. The usual mistakes are too many acids, skipped hydrating layers, washing with hot water and no sun protection.
The Korean approach: layers of moisture, not cover-up
The method is built on several light hydrating layers: toner, essence, serum and cream. The key ingredients are hyaluronic acid in different molecular weights, which draws water into the skin, and niacinamide, which helps even out tone and refine skin texture. For a soft, velvety finish, Korean brands love rice-based ingredients.
If you build your own routine, start with niacinamide at 3-5% in a serum. It is one of the simplest and most affordable actives for smoother looking skin.
Rice, hyaluronic acid and niacinamide: what to buy
For a glow toner, choose low molecular weight hyaluronic acid, and for homemade masks and powders use rice powder. Every item is sold both retail and wholesale, so it works for your own routine and for small-batch cosmetic production.
Remember that the glass skin look will not last without daily protection. We explain how to choose filters in our guide to Korean SPF.
Mylo-Opt now imports from Korea
We have started importing products from South Korea and are steadily expanding the range. Watch the catalog for new arrivals: some items are already available wholesale at a good price.
Frequently asked questions
Can oily skin get the glass skin look?
Yes. Oily skin needs moisture too. Choose light gels and serums instead of rich creams, and keep excess sebum in check with niacinamide.
How soon will I see results?
Better hydration is visible within a few days, while a smoother texture usually shows after 3-4 weeks of consistent care.
Do I really need many layers?
No. Three or four well chosen steps are enough: cleanser, hydrating toner, serum and cream, plus SPF in the morning.
Ready to build a glow routine? Order niacinamide and hyaluronic acid from Mylo-Opt with delivery across Ukraine, retail or wholesale.
