How to make your own deodorant.
Stress has become a normal part of life, and it affects the sweat glands: we sweat more and odour appears. A shower does not always solve it, so we reach for deodorants: liquid, solid, roll-on or powder. Whatever the format, shop-bought products contain plenty of synthetics. A natural deodorant you make yourself is an easy alternative.
Why choose a natural deodorant
A homemade stick neutralises odour without clogging pores, letting skin breathe. It cares for underarm skin, leaves a delicate scent and lasts 8-9 hours, sometimes all day.
Solid deodorant recipe
You need 6 g of refined beeswax, 3 tbsp of coconut oil, 1 tsp of vitamin E, 2 tbsp of baking soda, 10 drops of tea tree oil, 3 tbsp of corn starch and a few drops of essential oil of your choice. You will find more oils for products like this in our carrier oils range.
Melt the wax with the coconut oil in a water bath, stirring constantly and never letting it boil. Take off the heat, add the vitamin E, soda and starch, stir vigorously and finish with the essential oils. Pour into a deodorant container and leave somewhere cool and dark until completely set.
How to use and store it
Apply to clean, dry skin, let it absorb and avoid using it straight after hair removal. Because it is natural, it keeps for 2-3 months. Small jars work as containers, but a well washed and disinfected tube from an old deodorant is the handiest. For another version, read about our deodorant with soda and coconut oil.
