Hand sanitizer is the key to good health.
We are told from childhood how important clean hands are. Yet in today's hectic pace it is hard to keep them that way: shops, cash, public transport, office supplies. Washing your hands five or six times a day is not always possible.
A refreshing hand gel can help. A few drops are enough to make your hands feel clean and fresh again. It is easy to make at home, decant into a small pump bottle and keep in your handbag.
Ingredients
You need 1 g of konjac mannan gelling agent, which also moisturises the hands, 45 g of aloe hydrosol, 1.5 g of unrefined tamanu oil, 0.5 g of subcritical licorice root extract, 5 drops of manuka essential oil, 10 drops of tea tree oil and 5 drops of ravensara oil.
How to make it
Start by dissolving the gelling agent: sprinkle konjac mannan into the aloe hydrosol and stir slowly until it turns into a gel. Other thickeners are in our gelling agents section.
Add the licorice extract and tamanu oil and whisk with an ordinary whisk. Finally, add the essential oils and mix thoroughly. Pour the gel into a small sterile pump bottle and pop it in your bag. A similarly gentle product for the face is our enzyme facial foam.
Keep in mind that this gel complements regular hand washing rather than replacing it. It freshens the skin through the day and cares for it with moisturising ingredients and tamanu oil.
