Biphasic corrector for the skin around the eyes
In winter the skin around the eyes is constantly exposed to wind, and frost takes an extra toll on this delicate area. It needs special care, and a homemade two-phase corrector is a great answer: it moisturises, nourishes and brings freshness back to your eyes.
Ingredients
Water phase: 22.5% damask rose hydrosol or distilled water, 1.5% caffeine, 0.4% elastin booster, 55% aloe vera gel, 20% butcher's broom extract and 0.6% Cosgard preservative. Oil phase: 40% grape seed oil, 28% apricot kernel oil, 28% safflower oil, 3% pomegranate extract and 1% vitamin E.
Water phase
Get a mixing beaker and kitchen scales ready. Pour in rose hydrosol or distilled water. Rose water is the most popular floral water: it moisturises, tones and helps the under-eye area look fresher.
Add the caffeine, which firms the skin and reduces the look of dark circles. Warm it over steam until it dissolves, let it cool, then add the elastin booster, which supports firmness around the eyes and lips. A recipe for a 45+ cream gains a lot from the Matrixyl 3000 Lipo complex.
Next add aloe vera to moisturise and refresh the lids, and butcher's broom extract to reduce the look of puffiness and dark circles. Finish with the preservative, whisk well and pour the gel into a bottle.
Oil phase
Add the oils one by one straight into the bottle with the gel. They moisturise and nourish, add elasticity and shield the skin from wind and cold. Shake before each use so the phases combine. For more ideas for this area, see our caffeine eye cream.
FAQ
Why is it a two-phase product?
The water and oil phases do not fully blend, so you shake it before applying.
What can replace rose hydrosol?
Distilled water in the same amount.
When is the corrector most useful?
Especially in winter, when wind and frost dry the skin.
