Bay oil - benefit and treat hair
Bay essential oil first became famous in perfumery. Yet treating it as a mere fragrance would be a mistake. Distilled from the leaves of the bay tree, it has long been valued in homemade cosmetics as a helper for both skin and hair.
Just 3 to 4 drops of bay oil in a homemade cream or lotion help the product support skin firmness and keep the complexion looking clearer. Today, though, we focus on hair.
Why bay oil is loved for hair
Bay oil invigorates the scalp, helps get rid of dandruff and makes the roots look stronger, so fewer strands end up on your brush. Dull, tired hair gains shine and gloss with regular use. You can find it here: bay essential oil.
Bay oil hair mask
You need a tablespoon of burdock oil, a tablespoon of castor oil, a teaspoon of wheat germ oil and 5 drops of bay essential oil.
Warm the burdock oil in a water bath to about 40 degrees. Stir in the essential oil, then add the other oils one by one. Mix with a wooden stick until smooth. Once cool, the mask is ready.
Massage a small amount into the scalp, then comb it through the lengths. Rinse with your usual shampoo after 20 to 30 minutes. Repeat two or three times a week, and within a month your hair will look noticeably better cared for. For extra gloss afterwards, try our scented hair shine oil.
